About Me

My early working life was spent dealing with people during a 15 year career with a major international bank in the City of London and after the birth of my two children I was prompted into making a career change. I have always had an interest in healing and complementary therapies and after personally experiencing the effects of reflexology, I realised how effective such a relaxing and non-invasive therapy could be. I then embarked upon a professional training course with The British School of Reflexology in Harlow and gained distinctions in Anatomy and Physiology and Reflexology in October 2002. This then led me into exploring other holistic therapies and in January 2004 I gained a diploma with distinction, in Indian Head Massage. My Reiki training then followed with my First Degree Reiki in April 2004, Second Degree Reiki in October 2004 and in August 2010 I completed my training with the Master Teacher level (Shinpiden). All levels of my Reiki training have been completed in the original Usui method. My most recent venture has led me to gain a practitioners diploma for Natural Lift Facial Massage/Facial Rejuvenation in March 2012. I’ve also completed numerous other CPD courses, workshops and seminars to enhance, update and improve my knowledge which include: Maternity Reflexology, including Sub-fertility – November 2009 Advanced Reflexology Diploma, Reflexology for Back Pain – January 2006 Advanced Reflexology Diploma, Reflexology for Women – February 2007 Advanced Reflexology Diploma, Reflexology and the Intestinal Link – June 2005 Hand Reflexology workshop – January 2012 Whipps Cross Hospital study day on Reflexology in end of life care – November 2009 Advanced Reflexology with colour and crystals – July 2008 The Art of Foot Reading with Jane Sheehan – November 2008 Chinese Foot Massage workshop – October 2014 Emotional Freedom Technique workshop – February 2014 Level 3 Diploma in Pathology – June 2011 Mindful Reflexology workshop – September 2015 Introduction to Women’s Health seminar – October 2015 Fertility and how we may affect this as reflexologists webinar – March 2013 Hot Stone Reflexology - May 2016 I’m a full member of The Association of Reflexologists, EMBODY (MCThA) and the British School of Reflexology and hold public liability and professional indemnity insurance. I hold a ‘Massage and special treatment’ licence issued by Essex County Council Trading Standards which enables me to work from home. I gained a ‘high level of confidence’ rating for my recent site inspection. I have been a qualified reflexologist since 2002 and keep up to date with developments in the complementary field through my membership of Embody and the Association of Reflexologists. I participate in a continuing professional development scheme with the Association of Reflexologists which keeps my skills and knowledge relevant and up to a high standard. I have also had two years experience working voluntarily in St Francis Hospice where I have given Reflexology and Reiki to patients living with cancer and other life limiting illnesses. This was a very rewarding and valuable experience giving me insight into the support of patients needing end of life care. I use a holistic approach to encourage a positive outcome and a better quality of life for my clients and I now have many satisfied, regular clients who have all benefited enormously from receiving these therapies. I have worked in various locations including clinics, salons, a hospice and as a mobile therapist earlier in my career. Demand is now high so I’m no longer able to offer a mobile service but I can now see all of my clients from my fully licensed, home based, therapy room. I have worked with people from many different backgrounds, from children to the elderly and those receiving end of life care. I regularly see pregnant women and those wanting support for fertility issues. My job continually encourages me to be more relaxed and well balanced and to keep a positive outlook on life so I try to practise what I preach by enjoying good nutrition, exercise and having regular holistic treatments. I spend my spare time enjoying the outdoors and take regular long walks in the nearby forest and by the coast when I can. I’m also very creative and enjoy painting and crafting which has now resulted in me starting another small business making and selling pictures, tealight holders, wind chimes and key rings made with sea glass, shells and beach pottery that I collect on my regular trips to the coast. I also enjoy mudlarking and hold a permit which allows me to search the banks of the River Thames. Some of my paintings and sea glass pictures are on display in my therapy room and you can also view all my current and past work on my Instagram page , Facebook page and TikTok . All of the items that I currently have for sale can be found on my Sumup shop . Link to full Privacy Statement
